There isn’t enough time in the world to tell my daughters how much I love them. Work keeps me away from my family, creating a void that nothing else can quite fill. When I am away from home, I let the fragrance of my daughters’ clothes lull me to sleep. It may not be exactly the same as having them around but it is definitely a feeling of eternal belonging and blessing. On such lonesome nights, it troubles me to think about the world they will inherit. I pray that my love, my legacy and a sound education will inspire my daughters to build, for themselves, the world of their dreams. Though not always possible, every parent wishes the same for their child. Unfortunately, in rural areas, children, born into poverty, are denied their basic right to education and thereby a meaningful life. Such disturbing circumstances compelled me and some friends to start a Non Governmental, Non Profit organization called “Friend in Need” or FIN, whose first project was the establishment of an elementary school for the forgotten children of Village Kote, District Kotli, Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
