Is this Good Governance? What to talk of others the Chief Secretary AJK allegedly has following 8 vehicles in his personal use (on official fuel) although he is entitled to have one:

1. GC 222 Camry
2. GA 409 Vigo
3. GA 300 Prado
4. GA 708 Prado
5. GA 001 Fortuner
6. GA 1733 Altis
7. GA 936 Altis
8. GA 165 Corolla

All these vehicles (according to the record) remain on official duty in the best interest of the state? I have brought this to the notice of Mr. Tariq Farooq Senior Minister AJK in my TV Show and referred to a formal inquiry done by a committee chaired by nobody less than the Additional Chief Secretary (General) who appeared in the show as well. “Despite the fact that the complete information was not furnished to the committee, about 950 vehicles were found to be illegally possessed by various officials of the previous government”, he said. And according to Tariq Naqash Senior Correspondent (The Daily Dawn), the misuse of government vehicles is a norm in “Azad” Kashmir where a Secretary on average has about 3 to 4 vehicles in his personal possession; they all have a consensus on this.

The Senior Minister said that he had already gone through the inquiry report and his government can not allow this misuse of resources at the cost of a poor tax payer.
